Before your first child was born, you vowed to never give them sugar, soda, chocolate, processed foods and other junk. Their diet was going to consistent of organic superfoods that you grew in your urban garden. Get the Kids Involved in the Cooking Process

Kids are very freaking touchy – oops I mean hands-on, so when they see what goes into preparing meals, they often want to eat what they helped make. You can even get their help picking recipes and take them to the store with you.

Send Your Kids to School with Healthy Snacks

Pack your kids lunch but make it a little fun by being creative. Kids love food with fun shapes and designs. Don’t forget to add color into their meals! Kids love colors!  Plus keep up with all those other creative moms who are putting fun little veggies rolls shaped like dinosaurs and crap.

Never Skip Meals

We saw what skipping meals did to adults. We don’t want our kids to start with that, do we? If your kids usually don’t have time for breakfast, pack something healthy that they can eat on their way to school.  Because we all know kids don’t want anything until they are put in the car and then they scream their little heads off that they are starving.  Whatever, little brats.

Promote Regular Exercise

Do everything you can to encourage your kids to get into the habit of exercising more often. Participate in various activities around your community and get them used to moving their body. You can also make them do chores.  Chores are the best because they should learn to work for things and not everyone wins trophies and stuff.

Take a Walk After Dinner

Fun, easy, and no payment required exercising. Walking after dinner can also be a great way to spend daily family time. You can take your dogs with you if you like!  As long as your dog is well trained it can be a great family outing.  You can alway put your kid on a leash too if you need to.

Dancing burns a lot of calories and gives you more quality time with the kids.  Plus if you leave your curtains open the neighbors will think you are nuts and that stops them from their annoying habit of borrowing things from you or asking you to baby sit.

Ride Bicycles

This simple method keeps your kids healthy and enjoy nature as well! Go on a bike ride to the park on weekends and get all of that fresh air.  Or I love these little cages you can pull them in.

Outdoor Play Time

If riding bicycles isn’t an option, you can choose to play tag outside. You can also get a trampoline and jump all you want! A great way on how to keep your kids healthy and spend family time together.  However, trampolines have one of the highest injury rates so never mind. Maybe stick with these indoor ones.
